Ancient Civilization Parts come from Alpha Pals, which always drop them and respawn every in-game day — or every hour inside Sealed Realms. Cores come from raid bosses, and Ancient Pal Manuscripts come only from expeditions and fishing.
Parts → kill Alphas on a daily loop. Cores → raid bosses and oil rig golden chests. Manuscripts → expeditions, especially Hard ones at 25–30 each.
The three ancient materials
| Item | Weight | Rarity | Main source | Main use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ancient Civilization Parts | 1 | Rare | Alpha Pals (100%) | Mining structures, weapon schematics |
| Ancient Civilization Core | 1 | Legendary | Raid bosses | Ancient structures, incubators, shields |
| Ancient Pal Manuscript | 0.1 | Rare | Expeditions, fishing | Training Manuals, research technologies |
One set of figures gives 1,000 / 2,000 / 1,000 gold for Parts, Cores and Manuscripts. Another returns values for these three equal to each item's weight (0.1, 1, 1), which looks like an infobox column mismatch. This guide quotes no sell price for any of them.
Ancient Civilization Parts
In-game description: "Debris excavated from Ancient Ruins. Contains abundant information on lost technology. Extremely valuable, people from all walks of life are now seeking such crystals."
The farming rule that matters
The references state it directly: in addition to their regular item drops, Alpha Pals always drop Ancient Civilization Parts when defeated. There is no rate to gamble on — every Alpha, every time.
| Alpha type | Respawn | Practical loop |
|---|---|---|
| Overworld Alpha | Every in-game day | Circuit several on a mount, once per day |
| Sealed Realm Alpha | 1 hour, timer shown at the entrance | Sleep to fast-forward, then re-clear |
The Sealed Realm loop is the measurably faster of the two because sleeping compresses the one-hour timer, so you are limited by travel and kill speed rather than by the day cycle. First-time defeats also award an Ancient Technology Point and a Pal Bounty Token.
Highest-yield Alpha drops
| Boss | Parts | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Water God Shaolong | 8–9 | 100% |
| Legendary Ocean King Panthalus | 8–9 | 100% |
| Legendary Celestial Dragon Jetragon | 7–9 | 100% |
| Beast of Chaos Celesdir Noct | 7–9 | 100% |
| Sluggish Blue Bolt Snock | 7–8 | 100% |
| Sluggish Dazzling Flash Snock Terra | 7–8 | 100% |
| Immortal Shade Silvance | 6–8 | 100% |
| Guardian of Luminous Trails Aegidron | 6–8 | 100% |
| Gilded Lady Sibelyx Primo | 6–8 | 100% |
| Guardian of the Azure Flame Kitsun | 6–8 | 100% |
| Guardian of the Dark Sun Anubis | 5–7 | 100% |
The full published table runs to several hundred entries between 1 and 9 parts, all at 100%. Sources differ on Anubis — one gives 4–6, another 5–7; both are shown rather than merged.
No source we read lists a human-partner Tower Boss (Zoe & Grizzbolt, Auri & Shaolong and the rest) as an Ancient Civilization Parts dropper. The published drop table contains Alpha and field boss entries only. Tower Bosses give 5 Ancient Technology Points on first clear instead.
Expedition yields
| Expedition | Parts | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Grass | 1–2 | 100% |
| Forest | 2–3 | 100% |
| Volcano | 3–4 | 100% |
| Desert | 4–5 | 100% |
| Snow | 5–6 | 100% |
| Sakurajima | 6–7 | 100% |
| Feybreak | 7–8 | 100% |
| Sunreach | 8–9 | 100% |
| World Tree | 8–9 | 100% |
| World Tree Hard | 9–11 | 50% |
What Parts build
| Thing | Parts |
|---|---|
| Ore Mining Site | 5 |
| Ore Mining Site II | 10 |
| Coal Quarry | 10 |
| Sulfur Quarry | 10 |
| Pure Quartz Quarry | 10 |
| Laser Sword Schematic 1–4 | 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 |
| Beam Sword Schematic 1–4 | 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 |
| Katana Schematic 1–3 | 3 / 4 / 5 |
| Compound Bow Schematic 1–3 | 1 / 2 / 3 |
One source additionally names the Assault Rifle, Beam Launcher, Charge Rifle and Ancient Hatchery as Parts consumers.
Ancient Civilization Core
In-game description: "Core from technology that was lost long ago. Nearly impossible to find on the Palpagos Islands, it contains a wealth of forgotten knowledge."
Raid boss drops
| Boss | First source | Second source | Ultra tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eclipsed Siren Bellanoir | 1–3 | 1 | — |
| Twilight Siren Bellanoir Libero | 2–4 | 1–2 | 10 |
| Incarnation of the Eternal Flame Blazamut Ryu | 2–4 | 2 | 10 |
| Invader from Space Xenolord | 3–6 | 3 | 10 |
| Moon Lord | 2–3 | 2 | 10 |
| King of Salvation Hartalis | 4–7 | 3 | 10 |
The Ultra difficulty tier pays a flat 10 Cores across all five raids, which makes it strictly the best Core-per-clear once you can survive it. Only the first source lists the Ultra tier; the second does not, so its lower figures are likely base-difficulty only.
Moon Lord came in with the Terraria collaboration as a multi-part raid encounter with no Paldeck entry — you cannot capture it. The Terraprisma from the same collab is a weapon, not a Pal.
Other Core sources
| Source | Cores | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Silvance (regular Pal) | 1 | 100% |
| Dandilord (regular Pal) | 1 | 100% |
| World Tree expedition | 3–5 | 100% |
| Sunreach expedition | 3–4 | 100% |
| Feybreak expedition | 2–3 | 100% |
| World Tree Hard expedition | 6–9 | 50% |
| Lv55 oil rig golden chest | 1–5 | 55.0% |
| Lv60 oil rig golden chest | 1–5 | 44.1% |
| Glistening Ancient Relic | 5–10 | 41.5% |
| Glowing Ancient Relic | 5–10 | 34.6% |
| Gorgeous Ancient Relic | 5–10 | 28.8% |
| Dormant Ancient Relic | 5–10 | 24.0% |
Ancient Relics are the underrated source here — a Glistening relic pays 5–10 Cores at better than four-in-ten odds, which beats a base-difficulty raid clear.
What Cores build
| Thing | Cores |
|---|---|
| Ultra Shield / Advanced Shield | 30 |
| Electric Egg Incubator | 20 |
| Ancient Hatchery | 20 |
| Ancient Power Generator / Furnace / Kitchen / Material Synthesizer / Farm / Monitoring Stand / Clinic | 10 each |
| Gold Coin Assembly Line | 10 |
| Beam Launcher | 10 |
| Plasma Rifle | 7 |
| Beam Scatter | 5 |
| Ancient Shield / Ability Glasses / Ancient Relic Recycler | 5 each |
| Wing Pack | 1 |
Ancient Pal Manuscript
In-game description: "An ancient manuscript written on Pal hide. It may be found by Pals during expeditions. Required for advancing research."
It is not a Pal drop and no merchant stocks it. Expeditions and fishing are the only sources.
| Expedition | Manuscripts | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Any Hard variant (Grass through Sunreach) | 25–30 | 100% |
| Sunreach | 23–25 | 100% |
| Feybreak | 20–22 | 100% |
| Sakurajima | 17–20 | 100% |
| Snow | 15–17 | 100% |
| Desert | 13–15 | 100% |
| Volcano | 10–13 | 100% |
| Forest | 7–10 | 100% |
| Grass | 5–7 | 100% |
One source says only the Ancient Feybreak Remains Hard expedition yields Manuscripts, while another lists eight Hard expeditions at 25–30. That same source also says no recipes use Ancient Pal Manuscript, which the other contradicts with Training Manuals and 100+ research technologies. We follow the fuller listing here and flag the disagreement.
Fishing yields
Fishing spots also return Manuscripts, at lower rates: World Tree treasure fishing 8–16 at 9.0%, Sunreach treasure fishing 5–11 at 11.9%, Feybreak treasure fishing 3–8 at 10.3%, and the Grass fishing spot 1 at 46.5%.
What Manuscripts buy
| Thing | Cost |
|---|---|
| Training Manual (L) | 100 Manuscript + 10 Fiber + 1,000 Gold |
| Training Manual (XL) | 500 Manuscript + 4 High Quality Cloth + 5 Leather + 5,000 Gold |
| Research technologies | 5–70 Manuscripts each, across 100+ entries |
Research is where the bulk goes: Handiwork Speed Lv3–6, work-suitability level upgrades, Sphere and Ammo Duplication, Incubation Acceleration, Expedition mastery and Base Pal Enhancement Lv1–3 all bill in Manuscripts. Running Hard expeditions on repeat is the only realistic way to keep up.
What to do next
- Set a daily Sealed Realm circuit — it is the cheapest steady Parts income in the game.
- Queue Hard expeditions permanently; they pay Manuscripts at 25–30 a run regardless of region.
- Spend your first Parts on the Sulfur Quarry at Tech 46, the earliest of the ancient quarries.
