Predator Cores in Palworld

Updated Verified for Palworld 1.0.3

Predator Cores drop from Predator Pals — red-aura variants that spawn at random in place of ordinary Pals, hit harder than Alphas, and cannot be captured. You spend Cores on permanent stat Remedies and Elixirs, and on nothing else.

🔑
The 5-second version

Red eyes, red aura, low humming sound. Kill it, do not throw a Sphere. 1–4 Cores plus a Giant Pal Soul per kill. Cores buy Remedies (1 Core) and Elixirs (2 Cores).

What Predator Pals are

PropertyValue
AppearanceGlowing red eyes and a red aura surrounding them
Audio cueA low-pitched humming sound when nearby
StrengthStronger than Alpha Pals
Capturable?No
Spawn behaviourLow chance of randomly spawning in place of a regular Pal — no fixed spawn points
Ancient Technology Points?No
Guaranteed extra drop1 Giant Pal Soul
Introducedv0.4.11.0, the Feybreak update

The no-fixed-spawn rule is the important one. Every "Predator Pal location map" is guessing — there is nothing to map, because the roll happens against ordinary spawn slots. Covering ground beats camping.

⚠️
Region data is thin

One source gives the Predator Pals region as the Palpagos Islands. Another's Rampaging Gorirat entry also carries a World Tree spawn table, though every count on it displays as zero. Whether Predators roll on Sunreach and World Tree spawns is unconfirmed.

📌
Weight and value: sources disagree

One source lists a gold value of 20,000 and displays no weight. Another lists both weight and value as 0, which matches the infobox misalignment we saw on the other ancient materials. Neither figure is quoted as fact here.

Every Predator Pal and its Core drop

All rates are 100%. Every entry also drops 1 Giant Pal Soul.

1–2Relaxaurus, Tarantriss, Omascul, Starryon, Rayhound, Ragnahawk, Maraith, Dinossom, Reptyro Cryst
1Rampaging Gorirat, Vanwyrm, Direhowl, Lovander, Dogen, Mossanda

A few Pals appear twice in the published table with different values — Direhowl and Lovander at both 1 and 4, Jormuntide Ignis at both 2–3 and 4. These are most likely level-variant rows rather than a data error, but the higher figures are unconfirmed.

Blazehowl Noct44

Predator Direhowl at level 10 is the one worth knowing: it can appear long before you are equipped for it, and it hits considerably harder than the level-10 Pals around it. Leafan at 28 is the earliest 4-Core dropper.

⚠️
Two claims that do not hold up

One source gives Elixirs as costing 1 Predator Core where another says 2, and states that the Giant Pouch requires 20 Predator Cores. We checked the Giant Pouch recipe directly: it is 50 High Quality Wooden Board, 120 Fiber, 40 Leather and 20 Carbon Fiber at Technology level 57 — no Predator Cores at all. Do not stockpile Cores for a bag.

💡
Elixirs cost twice the Cores but need Lotus (L)

The Core cost is not the constraint — Lotus (L) is. If you are Core-rich and Lotus-poor, five Remedies from five Cores beat two Elixirs from four, since the Remedy tier uses the far more common Lotus (S).

How to farm Predator Cores efficiently

  • Cover ground, do not camp. Predators roll against ordinary spawn slots, so kilometres travelled is the variable you control.
  • Fly with the sound on. The humming cue reaches you before the visual does.
  • Pick dense areas with high-value Predator entries. Silvegis territory on Feybreak is attractive because a Predator Silvegis pays 4 Cores, and ordinary Silvegis drops Chromite in the meantime.
  • Do not waste Spheres. Capture is impossible; a Sphere thrown at a Predator is simply gone.

What to do next

  • Bank Lotus (S) from the Medal Merchant with Dog Coins so your Cores have something to pair with.
  • Compare against Alpha Pal farming, which is the predictable counterpart to Predator randomness.
  • Take a Feybreak trip that collects Chromite and Predator kills on the same loop.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get Predator Cores in Palworld?
Kill Predator Pals. They are the ones with glowing red eyes and a red aura, they are stronger than Alpha Pals, and they cannot be captured — killing them is the only interaction that pays. There are no fixed Predator spawn points: a Predator has a low chance of spawning in place of an ordinary Pal anywhere, so you find them by roaming.
How do you find Predator Pals?
Listen. Predator Pals emit a low-pitched humming sound when you are nearby, which is usually how you notice one before you see the red aura. Because they replace normal spawns at random, the practical method is covering ground on a fast mount through high-density spawn areas rather than camping any single location.
What are Predator Cores used for?
Two crafting tiers, both permanent stat items. One Core plus 4 Lotus (S) makes a Remedy — Vital, Stamina, Might, Speed or Burden. Two Cores plus 6 Lotus (L) makes the Elixir version of the same five. That is the entire published use list; nothing else consumes them.
Can you capture a Predator Pal?
No. Predator Pals cannot be captured under any circumstances, so no Sphere tier or capture power level helps. They also do not award Ancient Technology Points, unlike Alpha Pals — a Predator kill pays Predator Cores and one Giant Pal Soul, and nothing toward your tech tree.
Which Predator Pal drops the most Cores?
Several sit at the top band of 4 Cores: Helzephyr Lux, Bushi Noct, Sootseer, Incineram Noct, Tropicaw, Elgrove Cryst, Leafan, Silvegis and Flopie. Below them, a wide group drops 2–4 or 2–3. The lowest band, including Rampaging Gorirat, Vanwyrm, Direhowl, Lovander, Dogen and Mossanda, drops 1.
