Breeding
Every unique breeding combo in Palworld
79 hard-coded pairings of two different species that ignore the breeding-rank formula. For the Pals below, this is the only way to get them.
The game's combo table holds 183 rows for obtainable Pals, but 104 of them pair a Pal with itself. Those are not recipes — same species always breeds true and is resolved before the table is consulted, so those rows exist only to mark a Pal as unobtainable through the rank formula. The 79 pairings here are the ones you can actually act on.
Two pairings change result depending on gender: a female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis, while a male Katress with a female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. Every other pairing in the game just needs one male and one female.
The 24 Pals you can only breed from themselves
24 species have no cross-species breeding route: no pairing of two different species produces them, and the rank formula can never return them. Catch one of each gender, then pair them together. This list is derived on every build, not maintained by hand.
22 of them are marked by a self-pair row in the combo table above. The other 2 — Astralym and Panthalus — carry no combo row at all and are flagged IgnoreCombi instead, which bars them from the rank formula just as effectively. Counting the table alone gives 22; counting what you actually have to catch in pairs gives 24. The full comparison, with gender ratios →
