Alpha Pals, field bosses and the legendaries

Updated Verified for Palworld 1.0.3

Alpha Pals are oversized versions of ordinary Pals that give 10× XP, take 0.2–0.4× damage, always drop Ancient Civilization Parts and — unlike tower bosses — can be caught. The legendaries sit on top: Jetragon at level 70, Frostallion Noct at 65, and a cluster of level 60 encounters.

🔑
The 5-second version

Overworld Alphas respawn every in-game day; Sealed Realm Alphas every hour. First kill only gives the Ancient Technology Point. Bring the counter element and your best spheres — you want the Pal, not just the loot.

Verified on patch 1.0.3 (12 August 2026).

📌
Necromus and Paladius share a spawn

Both are listed at The Furthest Flats, (440, 679). Plan for either — Necromus is Dark and falls to Dragon damage, Paladius is Neutral and falls to Dark, so a Dragon Pal and a Dark Pal between them cover the pair.

⚠️
Jetragon's location changed in 1.0

Jetragon is now listed in The Azure Tapestry at (-553, -1332), which is not the Mount Obsidian summit that pre-1.0 guides describe. If an older video sends you to the volcano, it is out of date.

Beating an Alpha efficiently

  • Element first. A 0.2× damage multiplier means brute force is slow; double damage from the right element is the fix.
  • Bring spheres you can afford to waste. Capture rate is reduced by up to 30%, so budget for several throws at low HP.
  • Farm the same three Alphas. Overworld respawn is daily, so a short circuit beats travelling for variety.
  • Track first kills. Each unclaimed Alpha is one Ancient Technology Point you have not spent yet.
  • Use Sealed Realms for speed. A one-hour timer that sleeping shortens is the fastest repeat loop in the game.

Where the rest of the Alphas are

Community references maintain tables of 90+ overworld Alphas with Paldeck numbers, levels, titles and coordinates, spanning levels 11 to 65 including Sealed Realm entries. Rather than duplicate a table that long and risk transcription errors, use our interactive map.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Jetragon in Palworld?
The 'Legendary Celestial Dragon Jetragon' field boss is listed at level 70 in The Azure Tapestry, at (-553, -1332). It is a Dragon type, so Ice damage is your counter. At level 70 it is the highest-level field boss documented with coordinates and is normally the last legendary players attempt.
Where do you find Frostallion?
At level 60 in the Garden Beneath the Astral Mountains, (-357, 509). Frostallion is an Ice type and is countered by Fire. Its Dark variant, Frostallion Noct, is a separate level 65 encounter in the Deep Sand Dunes at (689, 648) — a Dark type, countered by Dragon.
Do Alpha Pals respawn in Palworld?
Yes. Overworld Alphas respawn every in-game day after you defeat them, while Sealed Realm Alphas respawn after one hour on a visible timer that sleeping can speed up. Only the first kill of each Alpha awards an Ancient Technology Point, so repeat kills are for materials and XP, not for points.
Can you catch Alpha Pals?
Yes, unlike tower bosses. Alphas have a reduced capture rate — roughly 0.7 to 0.77 times normal — and take reduced damage at 0.2 to 0.4 times, so bring higher-tier spheres and expect a long fight. Alpha Pals also have about a 5% chance to hatch from ordinary Pal Eggs.
What do Alpha Pals drop?
Ancient Civilization Parts are guaranteed, which alone makes them the backbone of late-game building. They also drop sellable goods such as Precious Pelts or Precious Dragon Stones, Pal Bounty Tokens, a small chance of Legendary-tier schematics from certain Alphas, and one Ancient Technology Point on first defeat.
Are Alpha Pals worth farming for XP?
Yes — an Alpha gives ten times the XP of its regular version. Because overworld Alphas reset every in-game day, a circuit of three or four nearby Alphas is one of the steadiest XP loops in the game, and it pays in Ancient Civilization Parts at the same time.
