Raid bosses are summoned at a Summoning Altar in your own base by offering a slab, and you have ten minutes to kill them. There are five raid families — Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, Xenolord and Hartalis — plus the Terraria collab's Moon Lord, most with an Ultra tier on top.
Altar at Technology 33. Slab in, ten-minute timer. Standard raids drop Ultra Slab Fragments; Ultra raids drop the trophies. Almost everything here is Dark or Dragon, so a strong Dragon Pal covers most of the roster.
Verified on patch 1.0.3 (12 August 2026).

Bellanoir: one raid table says level 30, another encounter entry says 35. Xenolord: one source lists it as Dark at level 60 for both tiers, while another lists Dark and Dragon with a level 65 standard raid and a level 80 Ultra. We report both rather than picking one.
Counters, boss by boss
| Boss | Element | Weak to | Bring |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bellanoir | Dark | Dragon | Jetragon, Jormuntide |
| Bellanoir Libero | Dark / Ice | Dragon, Fire | Jetragon, Faleris |
| Blazamut Ryu | Fire / Dragon | Water, Ice | Jormuntide, Frostallion |
| Xenolord | Dark (some sources add Dragon) | Dragon, plus Ice if the Dragon element is correct | Jetragon, Frostallion |
| Hartalis | Neutral | Dark | Necromus, Shadowbeak |
| Moon Lord | Special (collab) | No standard element matchup listed | Highest raw DPS you own |
Xenolord also drops 7–15 Meteorite Fragment at a reported 100% rate, alongside a 90% chance of a Huge Dark Egg — which makes it the most repeatable source of meteorite material in the game.
Difficulty tiers explained
| Tier | How you unlock it | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | The plain slab for that boss | Huge Egg of the matching element, Ultra Slab Fragments |
| Ultra | The Ultra slab for that boss | The same egg plus that boss's unique trophy item |
| Master (Moon Lord only) | Celestial Sigil (Master) | Weapon schematics and the Moon Lord Statue Schematic |
Standard raids feeding Ultra Slab Fragments is the loop: farm the standard version repeatedly, assemble Ultra slabs, then run Ultra for the trophies. The exact number of fragments per Ultra slab is not published by our sources, so it is omitted here.
Moon Lord is a multi-part encounter from the Terraria collaboration and is not a catchable Pal — no Huge Egg drops from it. Its rewards are gear: the Legendary Meowmere, the Moon Lord Mask and, at Master difficulty, weapon and statue schematics. The Terraprisma from the same collab is a weapon, not a Pal.
How to actually win a raid
- Treat it as a DPS check. Ten minutes is generous only if your damage is adequate; if you are timing out, the fix is more damage, not better dodging.
- Enhance before you summon. A Statue of Power rank 20 Pal is +60% over the same Pal untouched — see the condensation guide.
- Bring the element, not the favourite. Double damage beats twenty levels.
- Clear the arena. Raids happen in your base, so anything fragile near the altar is a casualty.
- Stack Attack passives. Twin-Edged Holy Blade, Demon God, Legend and Ferocious together are worth more than any single upgrade.
What to do next
- Clear the tower bosses first — raid-tier gear comes from that progression.
- Hatch your Huge Eggs and then breed them; see the breeding calculator.
- Bellanoir drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Cores, which gate most late structures.
