Where to get every seed in Palworld

Updated Verified for Palworld 1.0.3

One Pal solves seeds: Vaelet on a Ranch produces Tomato, Wheat, Potato, Carrot, Onion and Lettuce Seeds. Everything else — merchants, drops — is how you get your first three of each to build the Plantation.

🔑
The 5-second version

Every Plantation costs 3 seeds, once. Buy those 3 from the Caravan Leader, build it, and you never need that seed again. Ranch a Vaelet if you want the rest for free.

Plantations: what each seed actually buys

PlantationTech LvRecipe
Berry Plantation53 Berry Seeds, 10 Wood, 10 Stone
Wheat Plantation153 Wheat Seeds, 15 Wood, 15 Stone
Tomato Plantation213 Tomato Seeds, 70 Wood, 50 Stone, 5 Aquatic Pal Fluids
Lettuce Plantation253 Lettuce Seeds, 100 Wood, 70 Stone, 10 Aquatic Pal Fluids
Onion Plantation363 Onion Seeds, 30 Wood, 20 Stone, 2 Aquatic Pal Fluids

Both databases agree on every recipe above. Note the Aquatic Pal Fluids requirement from the Tomato Plantation onward — three of the five Plantations need it, and it is a more common blocker than the seeds themselves.

Vaelet is the only Ranch Pal in the game that produces any seed. Its food cost of 5 ties it with Sibelyx for the most expensive Ranch Pal to keep, so a Berry Plantation should come first.

⚠️
The Fisherman's Point prices look wrong

30 and 40 Gold for Tomato and Lettuce Seeds, against 200 everywhere else, is a large enough gap that it may be a different column on the source table rather than a real bargain. Reported as printed, treat as unverified — but it costs nothing to check the vendor.

Buying is almost always correct for your first Plantation. 300 Gold for three Wheat Seeds is trivial next to hunting for a 50% drop.

Which Pals drop which seeds

⚠️
Read this before using the tables below

The two main community databases publish substantially different seed drop lists — for several seeds only one or two Pals overlap between them. Neither can be dismissed, so both lists are given in full. If a Pal appears on both, it is the safe bet.

Wheat Seeds

CorroborationPals
Both sourcesSouffline ×1–2, 100%
One source onlyLifmunk ×1, Hangyu ×1, Herbil ×1 — all 100%
Other source onlyBristla ×1–2 100%, Flopie ×1 100%, Dinossom ×1–2 50%, Robinquill ×1–2 50%, Robinquill Terra ×1–2 50%

Souffline is the only Wheat Seed dropper both sources agree on, which makes it the one to hunt if you would rather not spend 100 Gold.

Tomato Seeds

CorroborationPals
Both sourcesCinnamoth ×1 (75% in one source, 80% in another), Vaelet ×1 50%, Braloha ×1 50%
One source onlyDinossom ×1–2 100%, Dinossom Lux ×1–2 100%, Bristla ×1–2 100%
Other source onlyWumpo Botan ×1 100%, Broncherry ×1–2 50%, Mossanda ×1 50%, Dinossom Lux ×1–2 50%

Even Cinnamoth's rate is disputed — 75% in one source, 80% in another. Dinossom Lux appears on both but at 100% versus 50%.

Lettuce Seeds

CorroborationPals
Both sourcesCinnamoth ×1 (75% in one source, 80% in another), Braloha ×1–2 50%

Other source onlyWumpo Botan ×1 100%, Bristla ×1 50%

Onion Seeds

CorroborationPals
Both sourcesBroncherry ×1–2 100%, Broncherry Aqua ×1–2 100%, Vaelet ×1 50%
One source onlyPalumba ×1–2 100%
Other source onlyMossanda ×1 50%

Onion Seeds are the cleanest case — both sources agree that the Broncherry line drops 1–2 at 100%, so that is a genuinely reliable farm.

Berry Seeds

CorroborationPals
Both sourcesClovee ×1–2 100%, Gumoss ×1 100%
One source onlyRibbuny ×1 100%
Other source onlyLifmunk ×1 100%

Clovee and Gumoss are agreed and both are low-level, which is why the Berry Plantation is the easiest of the five to unlock. No Ranch Pal produces Berry Seeds.

Seed item stats

Onion Seeds0.05No — stated explicitly
Wheat, Tomato, Berry SeedsNot published consistentlyNo

Seeds weigh essentially nothing, so there is no reason not to buy a stack when a merchant has them in stock.

📌
Region data is missing

Neither database states which island or region the seed-dropping Pals or the seed merchants are found in. The Caravan Leader and Wandering Merchants travel, and Duneshelter and Fisherman's Point are settlements on the Palpagos Islands, but per-Pal habitat for seed droppers is not published.

What to do next

  • Buy three Berry Seeds for 50 Gold each and build the Berry Plantation at Tech 5 — it feeds your whole Ranch.
  • Stock Aquatic Pal Fluids before Tech 21; three Plantations need it and seeds are the easy half.
  • Add a Vaelet once you can afford its food cost of 5 — see the full Ranch list.

Frequently asked questions

Which Pal gives seeds on a Ranch in Palworld?
Vaelet, and only Vaelet. It produces Tomato Seeds, Wheat Seeds, Potato Seeds, Carrot Seeds, Onion Seeds and Lettuce Seeds — six types from one Pal. It needs Farming Lv2 and has a food cost of 5, the joint-highest on the Ranch list, so budget food before you stock several. Berry Seeds are not in its output list.
Where do you get Wheat Seeds in Palworld?
Buy them, farm them from a Vaelet Ranch, or kill the Pals that drop them. The Caravan Leader and Wandering Merchants both sell Wheat Seeds at 100 Gold. Buying three is the fastest route to a Wheat Plantation, which unlocks at Technology level 15 and costs 3 Wheat Seeds, 15 Wood and 15 Stone.
Who drops Tomato Seeds in Palworld?
The two main databases disagree. One list gives Dinossom and Dinossom Lux (1–2 at 100%), Bristla (1–2 at 100%), Cinnamoth (1 at 75%), and Vaelet and Braloha at 50%. The other instead leads with Wumpo Botan at 1 for 100% and Cinnamoth at 80%. Cinnamoth, Vaelet and Braloha appear on both lists.
How much do seeds cost from merchants?
From the Caravan Leader: Berry Seeds 50 Gold, Wheat Seeds 100, Onion Seeds 100, Tomato Seeds 200, Lettuce Seeds 200. The Duneshelter Red Shirt Merchant matches the 200 figures for Tomato and Lettuce. Some references also list a Fisherman's Point merchant at 30 and 40 Gold for Tomato and Lettuce, which is far below every other vendor and may be a different price column.
Do you need to keep buying seeds in Palworld?
No. A Plantation is a one-off cost — you pay 3 seeds to build it and it produces the crop indefinitely. You only need more seeds to build more Plantations. That makes the seed problem a short, early-game one, which is why a single Vaelet on a Ranch covers most players for the whole run.
