Coralum Ore and Coralum Ingots in Palworld

Updated Verified for Palworld 1.0.3

Coralum Ore is not mined. Despite the name, there is no Coralum node and no Mining suitability attached to it — you pull it off the seabed with a fishing magnet at salvage spots, or you kill Whalaska for 2–3 at 100%.

🔑
The 5-second version

Salvage spots in deep water, not rocks. Powerful Fishing Magnet at Tech 62 (and it makes 10 per craft). Sunreach expedition pays 30–50. 2 Ore + 5 Coal = 1 Coralum Ingot.

⚠️
If you searched for "Coralum" or "Coralum mining level"

There is no such thing as a Coralum mining level. Version 1.0's "ores that need dedicated equipment" refers to Soralite on Sunreach and Paloxite at the World Tree, which need the Plasma Multicutter. Coralum is a salvage material. Also note that reference entries titled simply Coralum do not exist — the correct pages are Coralum Ore and Coralum Ingot.

The standard Sunreach expedition at 30–50 is the single best source, and it beats the Hard variant, which pays only 10–20. That is unusual — Hard expeditions normally return less bulk and more rarity — but it is what the published tables print, so send Pals on the normal Sunreach run.

The Alpha Whalaska — "Gentle Ice Lance Whalaska", level 55 — is documented at (-179, 842) in the Land of Absolute Zero. Open on map. Whalaska itself carries Watering Lv5 and Cooling Lv6 and no Mining at all, which is another sign that Coralum is not a mined resource.

The Powerful Fishing Magnet

PropertyValue
Technology level62
Recipe1 Hexolite, 1 Cryogenic Coolant, 1 Bio Battery
Work4,000
Yield per craft10 magnets
Deploys atSalvage Rank 1 and Salvage Rank 2 spots

In-game description: "A high-powered magnet used in advanced salvage operations. Its strong magnetic pull can retrieve resources and supplies from the ocean floor."

💡
Ten per craft changes the maths

The recipe reads expensive until you notice it produces 10 magnets. Per magnet that is a tenth of a Hexolite, a tenth of a Cryogenic Coolant and a tenth of a Bio Battery — cheap enough to burn freely on Rank 2 salvage spots, which pay 6–11 ore each.

Coralum Ingot

PropertyValue
Recipe2 Coralum Ore + 5 Coal
Technology level62
Crafted atGigantic Furnace or Ancient Furnace
Work5,000
Weight3
Rank4

Description: "An alloy made from Coralum Ore found on the ocean floor. Highly resistant to energy, making it ideal for crafting weapons."

📌
One source contradicts itself on the recipe

Its Coralum Ingot page says 2 Coralum Ore + 5 Coal; its Coralum Ore page says 1 Coralum Ore + 5 Coal. A second reference agrees with the first. Plan for 2 Ore per Ingot.

⚠️
The real cost is Coal

5 Coal per ingot, against weapons that want 200–400 ingots, means a Charge Rifle can imply 1,000–2,000 Coal. Read the Coal guide and build the Coal Quarry before you commit to a Coralum weapon.

Beginner Fishing Rod320 Paldium Fragment, 6 Aquatic Pal Fluids, 16 Ingot, 16 Fiber

There is a neat loop here: Coralum Ore builds the fishing rods that help you get more Coralum Ore. The Beginner Fishing Rod's 3-ore cost is small enough that Whalaska kills cover it before you ever reach a salvage spot.

What to do next

  • Queue the standard Sunreach expedition on repeat — 30–50 ore per run beats anything you can do by hand.
  • Build the Coal supply first; Coralum Ingots are Coal-limited, not ore-limited.
  • Clear the Lv55 oil rig, whose ordinary chests pay 8–12 ore at 83%.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get Coralum Ore in Palworld?
You fish for it. The in-game description says it can be retrieved from the depths with a magnet and fishing rod, and neither database lists any Mining work suitability for it — there is no Coralum node to pickaxe. Deploy a fishing magnet at a salvage spot, or kill Whalaska and Whalaska Ignis, which drop 2–3 each at 100%.
Where is Coralum Ore found?
In deep water. One source pins it to salvage spots surrounding Feybreak island; another's source table is wider, covering Feybreak, Sunreach, World Tree and Sakurajima waters. The richest single entry is the Sunreach expedition at 30–50 per run, and the Lv55 oil rig's ordinary chests give 8–12 at 83%.
What is the Powerful Fishing Magnet?
A Technology level 62 salvage tool described as retrieving resources and supplies from the ocean floor. Its recipe is cheap for the tier — 1 Hexolite, 1 Cryogenic Coolant and 1 Bio Battery for 4,000 work — and crucially it produces 10 magnets per craft. It deploys at Salvage Rank 1 and Rank 2 spots.
How do you make a Coralum Ingot?
2 Coralum Ore plus 5 Coal at a Gigantic Furnace or Ancient Furnace, unlocked at Technology level 62 with 5,000 work. Note that one reference's Coralum Ore page says 1 Ore rather than 2 — its own Coralum Ingot page and a second reference both say 2, so 2 is the figure to plan against.
What are Coralum Ingots used for?
Energy-resistant late-game weapons, mostly, and in enormous quantities: Charge Rifle variants run 200–400 ingots, Energy Shotguns 193–310, Rocket Launchers 75–150 and the Megaboost Gun 150. Cheaper uses include the Frostallion Saddle at 43, the Advanced Workshop and Japanese-Style Hot Spring at 50 each, and the Ancient Furnace at 100.
